Sthir Dasha is one of the main Dashas of Jaimini astrology. First determine Brahma, Rudra and Maheshwara for predictions under this dasha. Let us consider how they are determined.

Brahma: Consider which sign is stronger between the Ascendant and the seventh. Strong sign will be acknowledged through calculations. Lord which is stronger between the sixth lord, the lord of the 8th house and the lord of the 12th house will be assessed and considered as the Brahma.

The strongest lord between these three lords will be the Brahma. But there is one condition. According to this, Saturn will never become Brahma because it does not have the ability to become Brahma.

Method:
1. The strongest sign is assessed on the following basis

• a) The strength of Char sign
• b) The strength of Sthir sign
• c) The strength of aspect

1. The Strength of Char Signs

Signs are divided into three categories: Char, Sthir and Dwisvabhav. Char signs will get 20 (Shashtiyansh) points. Here we will call a point a Shashtiyansh. Sthir signs will get 40 points. Dwisvabhav signs will get 60 points.

2. The Strength of Sthir Signs

The strength of sthir signs will be acknowledged through the position of planets. If there is only one planet placed in any sign, then that sign will get 10 points. If two planets are placed in any sign then that sign will get 20 points. Points will increase according to the number of planets placed in the signs.

3. The Strength of Aspect

Under this dasha, signs aspect signs. Even in Parashari astrology, if any lord aspects its house then results of the house will increase. In Jaimini astrology, char signs aspect sthir signs, but they do not aspect the next sign. Sthir signs also aspect Char signs but they do not aspect the sign which is in front. Dwiswabhav signs aspect each other.

Under the strength of aspects, sign which is aspected by its own lord will get 60 points. In addition, signs in which Mercury and Jupiter are placed and signs which are aspected by them will get 60 points.

Analysis

We will get total strength of each sign after addition of these three strengths.

Now, we will calculate the strength of planets. It is different from the strength of signs.

The Strength of Planets

This is used to determine the strength of planets in Sthir dasha. Different strengths of planets are found through

• a) Moola Trikonadi strength
• b) Ansh strength
• c) Kendradi strength

Moola Trikonadi Strength

In the birth-chart, planets are placed at different positions: such as exalted, Trine, placed in its own sign, friendly house, neutral house, enemy house and debilitated house. Principles of Parashari astrology are used to assess this strength.

• The Strength of House = Strength
• Exalted = 70
• Moola Trikonadi = 60
• Own sign = 50
• Friendly = 40
• Neutral = 30
• Enemy = 20
• Debilitated = 10

When a planet is placed in the exalted sign then it will get highest points. If it is in the Moola Trikon, then it will get 60 points.

2. The Strength of Degrees

Firstly determine the seven Karaks. Then numbers will be distributed among them, which are as follows:

Atamkarak- 70, Amatyakarak- 60, Bhratakarak-50, Matrakarak- 40, Putrakarak- 30, Gyati Karak- 20 points

Planets will get points according to their karaks in this strength. If degrees of planets are same then minutes and seconds will be considered.

In the end, calculation of total points of all the planets will be done in the table of strength of planets. Suppose: Sun will get 40 points in the Mool Trikon. In the strength of degrees, it will get 10 points and it will get 40 points in the strength of Kendradi. Therefore the total points of Sun are 90. Calculations of all the planets will be done in similar way.

3. The Strength of Kendrada and Other Houses

Under this calculation, the Atamkarak planet is considered as the Ascendant and Kendra, Panfar and Apoklim houses are found. Planets which are placed in the Kendra will get 60 points. Planets which are placed in the Panfar houses will get 40 points. Planets which are placed in the Apoklim houses will get 20 points.

Find Rudra by the Strength of Planets
The strengths of planets are used to find Rudra. The lord which is stronger between the eighth lord and the second lord will be the Rudra.

How to Find Maheshwara

Planet which is the eighth lord from the Atamkarak planet will be the Maheshwara. Saturn can be a Rudra or Maheshwara but Rahu and Ketu cannot become the Brahma, Rudra and Maheshwara.
